The Cheeseburger Diet’s Gourmet Wasabi
Burgers! "It's east meets west here as we attempt to answer the question of who's better cowboys or ninjas! Well maybe they should just partner up and try our gourmet Wasabi Burger on for size!"
Ingredients
- 2
pounds ground sirloin
- 4
tablespoons soy sauce
- 2
tablespoons wasabi paste
- 1/2
cup chopped scallions
- 2
teaspoons minced garlic
- 2
tablespoons dried basil
- 1
teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 1/2
teaspoon salt
- 2
eggs
- Lettuce
- Red
onion, sliced
- Fresh
Thai basil
- Pickled
ginger
- Wasabi
mayo
- Whole
grain / high fiber hamburger buns
Preparation
- Preheat
grill to medium-high.
- Place
ground sirloin, soy sauce, wasabi paste, scallions, garlic, dried basil,
pepper, salt and egg into a large bowl and combine. Form into large patties.
- Oil
the grill rack and grill the burgers about 6-8 minutes per side or to your
liking.
- Assemble
the burgers: Spread wasabi mayo on the bottom half of each bun then add a
slice of lettuce and red onion. Place the burger on top and top with fresh
Thai basil and pickled ginger. Now spread wasabi mayo on the top half of
the bun and place it on top!
- I garnish these with a side of pickled ginger on each plate.
